2 Man Best Ball

2 Man Best Ball Highlights

Jim Mansfield’s Parents must have been “mudders”.  The rain Saturday made the course a little slushy and slow and with the greens just being punched they were sanding and bumping too.  So how did Jim Mansfield shot -2 (60) today with 6 Birdies and his first Low Net win at D.L.B.? His parents were mudders, of course.  Mansfield’s Blind draw partner was Matt Gerdes who shot an 80 today… “Don’t worry Matt I got your back”  Mansfield / Gerdes finished 1st Place Gross with a -3 (59). Mansfield also had 1 of his 6 birds hold up for a Gross Skin and tied for 2nd place low putts with Andres, Lindner & Emmerling with 30 putts Each.   2nd Place Gross was the team of Elenes / Goldberg who shot even par 62 but neither of them could hit the fairway on the long drive hole # 13 so Sophie Kim said “hell I’ll put my name on this” yes she out drove all the men today.   Let’s blame this on Grant Clarke, who was too cheap to put $2 in the regular flight, but Grant did win the Senior Long drive with his 240 yard drive down the middle of the fairway.  3rd Place Gross went to Chavez/ Graham’s team with a 1 over 63 today, keeping Don’s 70+% winning streak in tack.   First Place Net went to Adams / David with a net 48.   Cliffy must have been on fire?  No no no ….it was JP David who was on fire shooting a net 57 by himself with 3 birdies.   2 of his birds held up for a double dip giving him a gross & net skin and I think the first player to ever birdie hole # 14 and #18 on the same day…Damn JP that’s some good stuff.  2nd Place Net went to team Lindner / Watson who shot a net 50.  Bob Lindner’s Bird on # 1 held up for a Gross skin.  Tommy must have also like those sandy-bumpy greens cuz Tom Watson took down low putts today with 29 and long putt on Hole # 9 with his 6’ 7”.   3rd place net went to Hudson / Lankford who shot a net 51.  Ron Lankford won the closest to the pin on # 7 but his partner Steve Hudson was the only one to birdie that hole so Steve takes the gross skin.   Other contest winners were George Grayum whose 1 bird today held up for a Gross Skin on # 9 and his closest to the pin was good on # 12.  Brad Webster had the first closest to the pin on # 3 but his putt hit the wrong bump and was unable to get a bird. (Yes It would of held up.)   Paul Hailey says “thank you very much, now my par on # 3 is good for a net skin”.  Ron Lankford had the last net skin with his Birdie and pop on # 15.
